TurboFire Came Today...

I ordered TurboFire last week, despite starting a new workout schedule/plan. I wanted to take advantage of the fact that it was on sale!! Because I'm a BB coach I got it for under $50 - including shipping.  I couldn't pass it up!!

My original plan was that I'll stick to my current plan until that time is up, and then I'll start TurboFire. Now that TurboFire is here, I want to start NOW.  I'm so impatient! I sat down and went through the hybrid schedule and then added my runs in on those days. I figured out which days I'd do morning workouts and which I'd do afternoon workouts. It took a bit of time to do all of that. Now I'm going to mess it all up! Ahh! Am I crazy?

I have some time to sit and look at it, although I'll probably do that tonight, and re-write my plan. The TurboFire schedule starts on a Monday, so if I do add TurboFire it won't be until next week.  There are days that I am not going to be able to get everything done...I already know that. I'm going to plan for them though and see what happens. Of course, I ran this morning so I only have 50 minutes worth of DVD work to do this evening. I'm tempted to see what TurboFire is all about - right now!! I'll try to wait though. I guess I can take advantage of only doing two workout programs plus training runs this week.

Thanksgiving is one day I'm thinking about... I'm already doing a 5 mile run in the morning, out of town. I'm also scheduled to do DVD workouts in the afternoon.  Being that it is a holiday and time will be spent with family, I'm not sure I'll be able to get to the workout in the afternoon. I should be home by noon though, so maybe I can do it right when I get home... We shall see how the day's events fall into place.  I have no idea what is happening for Thanksgiving, I just know that I will probably be busy at some point. If I can squeeze in those extra workouts, I'm definitely going to. Knowing that it will be hard enough to do what's planned now leaves me wondering how in the world I think I'm going to add yet another program to my agenda! I guess I can always move the workouts around, and put a shorter TurboFire workout on that day.

There will be other ways I'll have to change things around too.  For example, right now my rest day is Sunday. The TurboFire schedule plans a rest day on Wednesday. I'm thinking that I will probably bump the workouts up a day, and do a workout on Wednesdays, and leave Sunday as my rest day.  Or I'll just follow both, as scheduled and not have a full rest day.  We'll see what I come up with!

I know that there will be other days that I will not want to do my run plus any of the DVDs, let alone more than an hour of DVD workouts. My long run days are on Saturdays, so I have the time. However, after running 8 miles, I'm probably not going to want to do a DVD at any point the rest of that day. SOOOO I may push those workouts to Sundays anyway. It's definitely going to take some thinking to come up with how I want to do this. I think the biggest part will be seeing which TurboFire workouts are scheduled, and when. If I need to move those workouts around, or not do a TurboFire workout one day, that's okay.  Or I can plan on doing AM and PM workouts daily, rather than just on run days or days I have plans in the evening.

I'm sure I'll figure out some kind of plan to make it all work, no matter what kind of changes I need to make. TurboFire is not my main program right now, so I'll fit those workouts in when I can. I definitely plan on doing them as often as possible!

Then again... I can always just wait until I'm done with my current program. I honestly don't see that happening though!!

I wasn't totally thinking when I made my schedule for this week, so I'm a little unsure about how my Saturday workouts will happen. I'm going to a football game (leaving Friday afternoon and probably coming back late Saturday).  As of now, I'm anticipating that where ever I stay (friend's house, or a hotel) I should be able to do the run in the morning...As long as I'm not up too late because, in order to get it done before I'll have to leave for the game, I'll have to get up pretty darn early. If I stay with friends after the game, I probably won't do my DVD workouts that night.  Of course, even if I drive home, I won't be getting home until late so I probably won't do them then either.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point. I'll either save everything until Sunday, or I'll do my run on Saturday, as planned and then the DVDs on Sunday.  I was also thinking that I could do my Saturday run on Friday when I do my DVD workouts, and then do Saturday's DVD workouts on Sunday afternoon/evening. I think that the DVD workout for Friday is about 55 minutes. I could always add a run to that. And, Saturday's DVD workout is about 45 minutes, so I could easily do that and run on Sunday. 

I'll either be making Saturday a rest day instead of Sunday; and moving Saturday's workouts to fit in other places, or I'll run Saturday and try to figure out when to do the DVD work. Or, or, or...! I could probably think of several ways to change my plan around. I could even do more tonight! Okay...I'm stopping now!

I wish I'd have considered this a little more when I made my plan. This is the one thing I don't like about planning... Trying to figure out how to change things or where to fit them in when you're short on time (and I want to add another program!?). I have no problem adding to a plan, which is what I did last night. I just didn't feel like 45 minutes was a long enough workout yesterday so I added 30 minutes of biking after I did my Rockin' Body workout. I burned a couple hundred more calories, and it felt good to do something a little different, and unplanned! It's the rearranging that bothers me...Especially since the BBL/RB hybrid is an actual plan designed to be done over a certain period of time. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I suppose I should stop writing about my program and plan, and go get a workout done!! I'm definitely doing my 50 minute scheduled evening workout.... We'll see if I decide to add some TurboFire or not. I do have other things I should be doing around the house, so maybe knowing that will help me to not allow my excitement over the arrival of TurboFire take over. I'll try my best to wait until next week.

For now... Workout time!

  1. I hope to do the Turkey Trot next year! I am unable to run right now due to some prolapse of my bladder from delivering Eliana. TMI but it's the truth. I hope to be well enough to jog in about 4 to 5 months from now. By then I should be completely healed up. I hope you love your TurboFire. I LOVE workout DVD's. :)
