I use a lot of abbreviations and short-hand in my posts.  I try to always include what they mean, but sometimes I may forget. Here I will keep a list of these terms for those of you who may not be familiar with them, or those of you who may need a reminder. Some are pretty standard or self-explanatory, but I don't want to leave anything out.  This list will likely grow as I continue to blog.

Let's start with nutrition...

Cal or cals: calories (eaten or burned!)
Carbs: carbohydrates
mg: milligrams
oz: ounces
lbs: pounds


Cardio: cardiovascular exercise
ST: strength training
CT: cross training
C25K: Couch to 5K, an online running program that I use
TP: training plan
CPT: Certified Personal Trainer
GEI: Group Exercise Instructor
NASM: National Academy of Sports Medicine (offers training programs for CPTs, GEIs, etc.)
ACSM: American College of Sports Medicine  (offers training programs for CPTs, GEIs, etc.)


HRM: heart rate monitor
Vest: weighted vest; currently mine is 20 lbs
Tread or tready: treadmill
DVDs: Okay, that one is obvious.
SP: SparkPeople.com, the site I use for tracking my nutrition and fitness.
MFP: My Fitness Pal. another tracking site.
BBL: Brazil Butt Lift, workout program
RB: Rockin' Body, workout program
TF: Turbofire, workout program
WW: Weight Watchers
PP: PointsPlus (WW points)
WWPP: Weight Watchers Points Plus - all lumped together.
